THIS was a crazy new level of customer service that I was not expecting, and I was over the moon that I got anything back at all. And so they just took it back and re-gifted me the total cost of the blender: $329.99. They took it back! Not only did they look up my purchase history and find the original purchase from however long ago I bought it from, but they found that it WAS still under warranty. I wasn't hopeful, but I tried to bring it back and just see what would happen. I knew they had a great return policy, but. She suggested just trying to take it back to Costco. It was close to the time I bought it, but I couldn't remember for certain when. sorry blender.īut thats not the end of the story! My wife checked online, and noticed that the blender had this crazy long warranty - about 8 years. I deemed it no longer safe to use, so it was time to go. Then finally, the thing shorted one morning, and I could not get it to turn on: it would pop the GFI in the kitchen outlet just plugging it in. I knew it was only a matter of time before the blender broke down, so I tried being gentle with it. I noticed that this happened usually when the motor was spinning very fast. I started noticing that the underside of the blender would have these dark, wet splotches on it, and it smelled like burnt toast. Well, about a month or so ago, it started making some funny noises when making my morning smoothie, followed by a burning plastic smell. I was living in Kirkland, WA at the time, and bought it at the original Costco store (the motherland!) It was the Blend-Tec one with the wild side jar, and it worked great for many years. So, about 8 years or so ago, I bought a blender from Costco. Please note: Moderators can remove posts/threads as they see fit outside of the above rules.
